INU YASHA DRAWS TO AN END:
Viz's Toshi Yoshida has confirmed reports that the Inu Yasha TV series is to end soon. At San Diego Comic Con he stated that he had learned from the Japanese producer that episodes 166 and 167 will be a double episode that will mark the end of the series. They will be aired on September 6th.
To date the Inu Yasha franchise includes 159 TV episodes (over 6 seasons), 4 TV Specials, and 3 feature movies, with a 4th on the way in December. As previously reported, a trailer for the fourth movie, Guren no Houraijima (Crimson Horai Island) is available at the official InuYasha movie website.
Viz will release the InuYasha Season One box set, and the first InuYasha movie, on September 7th.

GUNDAM SEED DESTINY:
Bandai Japan has issued an official press release regarding Gundam SEED Destiny.
The press release sets out the Bandai Group's plans for Gundam SEED Destiny, however it does not discuss the anime itself. While Bandai Visual will distribute the DVDs and VHS (animation produced by Sunrise), other divisions will create plastic model kits, games, action figures, candies, cards, clothing accessories, stationary, cellphone software and more.
The Press release then goes on to list various achievements of Gundam SEED and Gundam in general.
To date, there have been over 10 million plastic Gundam SEED models sold worldwide (primarily in Japan), and in the first 3 months of 2004, the Bandai Group's total Gundam-related sales (international) amounted to 54.2 Billion yen (US$499 million).
The official Gundam SEED Destiny website will be located at gundam-seed-d.net, however the domain currently forwards to Sunrise's main website.
FULL METAL ALCHEMIST MOVIE PLANNED:
According to Sony Music Japan's website, the Fullmetal Alchemist movie will be released in Japanese theaters the second half of Summer 2005. A Mainichi Shimbum report is saying that the movie takes place two years after the end of the TV series. The script will be written by Aikawa Shou, and the director will be Mizushima Seiji, who is also directing the TV series.
A more detailed announcement will be available on July 12 in Shonen Hanhan.
In other Full Metal Alchemist news, Japanese retailer Animate just put up a pre-order for a replica of Edward Elric's automail arm. Sold out within a day, the arm measures 70cm from shoulder to fingertip. It will hit shelves on July 30, 2004 and will retail for
ADV Films announce new Anime licences
ADV Films announced 17 new acquisitions at Anime Expo 2004 held in Anaheim, California. Anime Expo set a new record for attendance at over 25,000.
